No serious injuries reported in bus vs. car crash

ISHPEMING — Ishpeming Police say there were no serious injuries reported in a crash between a school bus and a car Wednesday morning.

The crash was reported around 8:00 a.m. at the corner of US-41 and Hickory Street. The bus was carrying Birchview Elementary School students.

The rear passenger side of Ishpeming School Bus #7 ended up on top of the hood of a black four-door car. The bus had damage on both sides, and was leaning against a utility pole.

Two students were taken to the hospital, but there were no serious reports of injuries. Ishpeming Police Chief Steve Snowaert says the woman in the car was hospitalized, but she was alert after the crash. She is six-months pregnant.
