ISHPEMING — A much needed medical service is going to be available to patients in Ishpeming.

Urological services are now available to patients at UP Health System – Bell. The services offer treatment for kidney, bladder, urinary tract, and reproductive organ disorders. The move to Bell will make the service available to more patients across the Upper Peninsula.

“It does come as a big benefit to who are living on the west end of Marquette County,” said Nurse Practitioner Angela Rose-Kratz. “We all know as Yoopers that we do have some barriers in travel, especially during those winter months, so being able to be available to those patients closer to home will be helpful.”

For now, consultations and medical management will be available at Bell, with procedures still being done in Marquette and at the Peninsula Medical Center.

UPHS hopes to bring procedures to Bell in the future.
