Boil-Water Advisory in Ishpeming

After a few days of work, Ishpeming Public Works has all of the city’s water customers back online.

But some will still have to boil their water before using it.

Crews finished repair on a North Third Street water main around noon today.

They had the road re-opened before 2pm.

The water main broke early Saturday morning.

Since then, workers were able to maintain pressure, keeping everyone in service.

But Ishpeming DPW superintendent Jon Kangas says some customers are under a water boil order until 5pm Thursday.

This affects Third Street between Bessemer Street and Michigan Street, and Bessemer and Iron Streets east of Third.

Anyone in those areas has to boil any water intended for consumption for 3 to 5 minutes first.
