The cost of eating well
Healthy and nutritional foods are often thought of as more expensive than most other food items on the market, but today shoppers across Michigan learned that that isn’t always the case.
“Michigan Cooking Matters at the Store” tour took place at the Walmart store in Marquette today and at others across the state.
The tour is designed to help family shoppers get the most bang for their buck at the grocery store by purchasing healthier food products.
Shoppers learned to compare unit prices, purchase fruits and vegetables on a budget, read food labels and pick out whole grains.
The Walmart Foundation is the national sponsor of Cooking Matters, and has donated over $6 million to the initiative.
“Michigan Cooking Matters at the Store” tours took place at 22 Michigan Walmart locations today.
