High schoolers learn the ‘Reality’ of life

A group of Marquette Senior High School students were handed the keys to a house and a car and forced to grow – up in a hurry today.  They also faced a laundry list of adult financial issues.  The 9th graders at MSHS took part in the 13th annual “Reality Store” today.

Students are assigned – or choose – a career and a family – and must learn to handle all the responsibilities that come with the title of ‘adulthood.’

A new twist to the event this year: each student was given a credit card. The students were forced to set money aside for the month and learn to pay off the balance.
