Music coming to Quincy Mine
QUINCY TOWNSHIP — There will be a unique concert in the rocks this week. A rock band will be playing music inside an old mine shaft.
The “Surround Sound Music Series” music series will be presenting different concerts at the Quincy Mine hoist building on Thursday and Friday.
There will be original music by a variety of composers, and the music will celebrate a treasure found by anyone walking the Keweenaw’s Lake Superior shorelines.
The concerts will be different each night with a variety of works presented, including four world premiers.
” Oh yeah the sound is amazing and its beautiful,” said Stephen Rush of the Surround Sound Music Series. “Anyone’s who’s ever been in Quincy mine has seen this incredible space.”
The concert will be Thursday and Friday at 7:30 pm.
Tickets are on sale now for $15 for adults, and $5 for children.
