ISHPEMING — This weekend will provide a perfect event to kick off the summer and celebrate your kids’ hard work in school.

The Greater Ishpeming–Negaunee Chamber of Commerce (GINCC) is hosting their second annual Children’s Carnival at River Rock Lanes in Ishpeming this Friday May 18th. The first run was a success, and the GINCC is looking for some more sponsors this year. The event is free and open to the public.

“J–Goods Plumbing, Heating and Cooling is our title sponsor again this year; they are going to be bringing out the dunk tank again for everyone, and we will have some surprise guests to dunk in the tank. There’s going to be some small carnival games all over; this is directed towards children 12 and under, but anyone is welcome to come,” said GINCC Executive Director Kelsey Reyes.

There will be plenty of games for the kids, who will also receive a hot dog and pop. In addition, four bikes will be raffled off as opposed to last year’s two bikes.
