Jail Escapee Sentenced for Breakout
The Iron Mountain man who escaped from jail last month is waiting for yet another jail sentence.
20-year-old James Banks has pleaded guilty to 2 counts of escape from a felony jail sentence.
He’ll get his sentence for that on January 5th.
Banks recently got sentenced to 21 months for a drug-related offense.
He briefly escaped from the Dickinson County Correctional Center on November 2nd while he was still awaiting that sentence.
Banks had also been charged with conspiracy to escape, malicious destruction of a building and being a habitual offender, 3rd offense.
But those charges from the escape were dropped under a plea agreement.
A Niagara, Wisconsin woman is accused of helping him after he escaped.
24-year-old Kymberly Garvaglia is charged with harboring and aiding a felon.
Her preliminary exam is tomorrow in Marinette.
