Michigan Great Lakes Preservation Plan
Conservation and economic groups are working together statewide on a plan to preserve Michigan’s share of the Great Lakes.
The plan touched on 8 aspects of the Great Lakes region that need guidance.
Sustainable economic growth using industries connected with the lakes is a big part of the plan.
Some of the other areas include invasive species and cleaning up polluted areas.
The final draft should be ready by the end of the year.
Groups statewide are working with Lieutenant Governor Jon Cherry’s office on the plan.
You can contact the Watershed Partnership or Northern Initiatives in Marquette if you want to weigh in on it.
