One person injured in two-car accident
One person suffered minor injuries in a car accident on U.S. 41 in Marquette Township.
The accident happened around 1:30 Friday afternoon on the highway near Brickyard Road.
The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office says GMC Terrain driven by George Balko, 64, of Wetmore turned onto the highway from Brickyard Road and hit a Chrysler Sebring driven by Karen Rinehart, 23, of Negaunee.
A passenger from Balko’s car was transported to Marquette General Hospital the treatment of minor injuries.
Police cited Balko for failure to yield.
The Michigan State Police, Marquette Township Fire and Rescue, and Marquette General EMS assisted at the scene.
