New Scoliosis Treatment
Scoliosis is a debilitating medical condition that causes the spine to curve from side to side.
A type of scoliosis surgery created in Marquette helped change the life of a Marquette County woman.
Jamie Filizetti suffered from scoliosis for most of her life.
But she says it started to become more painful over the last year, taking a toll on her day-to-day activities.
A new technology and a surgery that was developed by Pioneer Surgical and Dr. Matthew Songer was able to help correct Jamie’s condition.
Dr. Songer says it involves implanting a series of rods and screws into Jamie’s back, shaped how the spine is supposed to be curved, and bringing Jamie’s spine to the rods.
Three months have passed since Jamie’s operation.
She says she’s already noticed a significant improvement in how she feels on a daily basis.
