VA Medical Center to Observe POW/MIA Day
IRON MOUNTAIN – The Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain will be observing National POW/MIA Recognition Day on Friday, September 21, 2012, at 11 a.m. at its outdoor pavilion. The ceremony will pay tribute to America’s former prisoners of war who live in the area and those killed or still missing in action.
Keynote remarks will be made by Mrs. Jean Hiatt, who will speak on life as a POW family member. She is the wife of former WWII POW Ken Hiatt. Music will be provided by the Kingsford Concert Chorale.
The public is welcome to attend the ceremony. Parking is available near the Outpatient Clinic entrance. In the event of inclement weather the ceremony will take place in the Holman Room, located in the basement of the Medical Center.
