ATV rollover in Sands Township leaves two injured
SANDS TOWNSHIP — Two people have received minor injuries after an ATV rollover in Sands Township.
At approximately 6:11 p.m. earlier tonight, the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single ATV rollover on County Road 480 near Cherry Creek Road.
A 27–year–old Gwinn woman was traveling eastbound on the north side of County Road 480.
The ATV, a green 2005 Arctic Cat 400, left the trail and tipped over on its side.
The driver of the vehicle prevented further rollover by holding the ATV up with her legs.
The driver sustained minor back injuries, and the 10–year–old female passenger sustained minor stomach injuries as a result of the crash.
Both occupants were wearing helmets at the time of the crash, and were transported to UP Health System Marquette for their injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
