Wells Township Fire Not Caused by Dishwasher
Escanaba Public Safety has determined the origin of a recent fire in Wells Township to have started in the kitchen area of the residence.
The investigation into the fire at 6631 N-Road has been determined to be electrical in nature and accidental.
Escanaba Public Safety issued a news release after rumors surrounding the cause of the fire being due to a recalled dishwasher developed on social media sites.
An electrical appliance was involved with the fire, but investigation by an independent Fire Investigator for the insurance company to determine the extent involving the appliance is ongoing.
