Accidental Shooting Victim in Serious Condition

A downstate man is in serious condition tonight after he was accidentally shot yesterday.

It happened in Baraga County yesterday morning.

State Police from the L’Anse Post say it was in Covington Township, near the intersection of North Randolph Road and South Randolph Road.

58-year-old Glen Ulbrich from downstate Oxford was accidentally shot in the lower back with a 20-gauge shotgun while partridge hunting.

Ulbrich was taken to Baraga County Memorial Hospital in L’Anse and then to the ICU at Marquette General.

Late this afternoon, MGH employees said Ulbrich is in serious condition.
