Jail Escapee Sentenced on Drug Charges

The Iron Mountain man who escaped from jail earlier this month is sentenced on a drug charge.

20-year-old James Banks will spend at least 21 months in prison.

He was charged with delivery of less than 50 grams of a controlled substance with a 2nd-offense habitual offender stipulation added.

Banks won’t begin that sentence until h completes 3 months in jail for drunk driving and failure to appear in court.

He’s also still facing other charges for the jail escape.

Arraignment on those charges is set for December 1st.

Banks briefly escaped from the Dickinson County Jail on November 2nd.

A Niagara, Wisconsin woman is accused of helping him after he got out.

24-year-old Kymberly Garvaglia is charged with harboring and aiding a felon.

Her preliminary exam will be December 11th in Marinette.
