MARQUETTE–Northern Michigan University’s Regional Police Academy hosted an informational Tuesday evening at the Jacobetti Complex.

The meeting was for those interested in attending the academy from May through August of 2018. Tuesday evening’s meeting was just one of the three offered 45-minute sessions.

Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and NMU requirements to attend the academy, as well as an overview of the academy were the topics of discussion. An opportunity to ask questions was also provided.

“We’re looking for good, qualified, quality recruits to come to our academy,” said Lieutenant Ken Love. “We’ve had great success in the last three years with our recruits getting hired in the State of Michigan and throughout the United States.”

Remaining interest meetings are at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, October 3rd, and Wednesday, October 4th, in room 132 of the Jacobetti Complex.
