U.P. school investigates school shooting threat
RUDYARD — The Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a threat of violence at Rudyard Area Schools. The message was shared on the social media app “Sarahah”.
The sheriff’s office received a tip regarding the message just after 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 3rd. The message said: [sic] “There’s gonna be a school shooting in Rudyard tomorrow, wouldn’t show up if I were you. Warnin ya”. They immediately met with school administrators in an effort to find the original author of the thread.
The investigation is ongoing and the sheriff’s office says they will exhaust every possible avenue to determine who made these threats. If you have information directly related to this investigation, please call 906-440-3297.
