Motor home fire shuts down US-2
RAPID RIVER — A motor home and car are being considered a total loss after they caught on fire Sunday morning.
Deputies from the Delta County Sheriff’s Department say they responded to a vehicle fire on US-2 near Z Road in Rapid River just after 11:00 a.m. When they arrived on scene, they found a 40-foot motor home towing a passenger car on fire.
The highway was shut down for several hours to allow firefighters to battle the blaze safely. While the motor home and car were considered a total loss, all occupants were unharmed in the incident.
One firefighter was treated for heat exhaustion.
