Knife Attack Arraignment Cancelled
The arraignment for a Marquette man accused of a knife attack has been cancelled.
33-year-old Ryan Saari was scheduled to have his arraignment in Circuit Court this Thursday.
Court staffers say they’re expecting him to enter a not guilty plea by mail ahead of time, so they’ve called off the arraignment.
However, as of this afternoon, they hadn’t actually received the paperwork from Saari and his attorney yet.
Saari is charged with 1st-degree home invasion and felonious assault in an alleged attack on his ex-girlfriend last month.
It happened at the Whetstone Village apartments in Marquette.
A judge rules in Saari’s preliminary exam last week that there was enough evidence.
Saari is also a person of interest in the March murder of Robert Dusseau at the Marquette Township pawn shop he co-owned.
State Police say they have not ruled out Saari as a suspect in that case.
But they say there are several other people of interest that they also haven’t ruled out.
