Red Cross Thanks Hurricane Volunteers

Marquette’s Red Cross is thanking its volunteers for all their hard work.

The Central U.P. chapter of the Red Cross met today to honor volunteers for their contributions.

The Yoop Troop, as they call themselves, was recognized for traveling to hurricane relief sites while locals told storied of the effect Red Cross workers have had in their lives.

Volunteers have been especially busy lately helping at posts held during Hurricanes Gustav and Ike.

Armed forces emergency services volunteers and health and safety instructors were also thanked and recognized during today’s event.
