Hancock Wreck May Not Have Killed Man
An Atlantic Mine man is dead after a car accident in Hancock, but the accident may not be what killed him.
The wreck happened a little after 8 Monday night at the corner of Hancock and Tezcuco Streets.
48-year-old Jay Seppanen crashed his car into a building.
He was dead at the scene.
Hancock police say there’s no sign he put on the brakes before impact.
The county medical examiner is trying to see if Seppanen had a medical problem before the accident.
The autopsy should be done tomorrow.
A state police accident investigator from the L’Anse post is also trying to sort out the timeline of events.
No one saw Seppanen hit the building, so Hancock police are asking anyone who may have seen a Suzuki Aerio near the area at 8 last night to call them.
Seppanen drove a 2003 Aerio.
