Weather Forecast 5/7-8

Clouds streamed in overnight, bringing with them areas of light drizzle. Heavier rain is set to move in tonight and, along with it, thunderstorms. The best time to see thunderstorms will be after midnight, so any plans you have earlier than that should stay mostly dry.

Lows Wednesday night drop to the lower and middle 40s while winds come out of the east at 5 to 15 miles per hour. Rain chances carry on into Thursday as scattered t’storms cover the region dropping over an inch of rain in southern and western portions of the U.P. High temps jump into the 60s with some locations farther inland approaching 70.

Tomorrow night, prepare for another wave of showers and storms as the disturbance moves closer. Lows tomorrow night will look more like afternoon highs, with temps bottoming out in the lower and middle 50s while southeast winds blow at 10 to 15 miles per hour. The rain begins to leave the area on Friday, setting us up for a nice beginning to the Mother’s Day weekend.
