MARQUETTE, MICH.- The Northern Michigan University volleyball team recently hosted its volleyball camps at Vandament Arena. The Wildcats instructed 150 campers during the week from all over the Midwest.
“I thought our advanced camp and positional training camps had tremendous skill level and competitiveness,” NMU volleyball coach Dominic Yoder said. “We had athletes coming from Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Ohio and both upper and lower Michigan. We also had athletes from as far away as Kansas, California and Alaska.”
The Elite/Advanced All-Skills Camp had 57 players, 11 campers were at the Day Camp, Positional Training Camp had 35 athletes and six teams participated in the Team Camp. Bark River-Harris, Calumet, Ironwood, Negaunee, Superior Central and Westwood played at the Team Camp.
“It was thrill to see our Wildcat volleyball players give back to our community by teaching the game of volleyball and inspiring future Wildcat volleyball players,” Yoder added.
