NMU golf team plays in Midwest Regional

NOBLESVILLE, Ind. – The Northern Michigan University golf team shared a 21st place finish at the 31-team Midwest Regional #4 on Monday (April 15) at Purgatory Golf Club. The Wildcats (301-308) finished tied with Illinois-Springfield, 30 strokes behind team-winner Missouri-St. Louis.
Juniors Jared Reid (T17th) and Mike Murphy (T27th) finished in the top 30. Reid shot a 71-75 for a two-day total of 146. Murphy was two strokes back (73-75) for a 148.
Freshman Patrick Sweeney (78-81=159), sophomore Ayrton Mantha (83-77=160) and junior Ben Johnson (79-88=167) also golfed for the Green and Gold.
NMU will be back in action next weekend (April 19-21) at Winding Hollow G.C. for the GLIAC South Tournament in New Albany, Ohio.
