RSVP Volunteers Dinner
Marquette County residents age 55 and older were recognized tonight for donating their time to help others.
RSVP is the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program.
It held its 22nd annual Volunteers Dinner tonight at the Holiday Inn in Marquette.
Four volunteers received special recognition in the form of the President’s Volunteer Service Award.
RSVP director Amy Mattson says the awards are in recognition of each person donating 4,000 volunteer hours in their lifetime.
More than twenty other previous recipients of the award also attended.
Since last October, nearly 300 RSVP volunteers have donated more than 42,000 hours of service.
The volunteers assist 70 nonprofit agencies and schools in Marquette County.
