MARQUETTE — Concerned citizens are gearing up for a march on Saturday in Marquette.

Members of the community are preparing for the 4th annual Women Rising, a march and rally being held on Saturday in downtown Marquette.

Although the march is called Women Rising, the march is for more than just women.

“Women’s rights are human rights,” said Karlyn Rapport, one of the rally organizers. “You can meet with like-minded people if you come to the march and get energized and understand that not only do we have to vote, we have to tell our brothers and sisters that they have to vote.”

The march begins tomorrow at noon at the Marquette Commons in downtown Marquette.

A rally will follow immediately after the march at the Marquette Commons, where there will be music, guest speakers, a Native American drum circle, and much more.
