One seriously injured in ATV accident in Ishpeming Township
ISHPEMING TOWNSHIP — On Tuesday, July 2nd, the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to North Lake Road and Prospect Street on a report of a 4-wheel ATV crash.
An ATV, designed for only one rider, was carrying two additional riders when it went over a dirt mound on the side of the road and the driver lost control.
A 15-year-old female from Ishpeming was thrown from the vehicle, and was struck by the same ATV, which then flipped on its side.
The female was transported to UPHS-Marquette for treatment of serious injuries.
No riders were wearing helmets at the time of the incident.
