70th Annual Strawberry Festival in Chassell

CHASSELL — The people have Chassell are celebrating their 70th Annual Strawberry Festival today and Saturday.

The Chassell Lions Club is hosting this event that will have many vendors and different activities going on throughout the two days.

This event allows families to come and enjoy their time eating fresh strawberries and checking out all the different stands at the festival. The Lions Club members are happy to have anyone come to this annual event that has been around for 70 years.

“It’s supposedly the longest running festival of its type in Michigan,” said President of the Chassell Lions Club, Barb Worrall. “We have been really blessed with great workers and volunteers. We have also changed a few things over the years but the short cakes, the queen, and the parades have been traditional for years.”

All the money that is made will go back to the community and organizations, and will also support the school in various ways.
