6th Military Appreciation Car Wash, BBQ set for Saturday
MARQUETTE — This weekend seems perfect for a car wash, as well as a barbecue.
Why not both?
The 6th annual Military Appreciation Car Wash and BBQ is set for this Saturday from 9 A.M. to 6 P.M. at Superior Express Care and Wash on W. Washington St. For $10, anyone can enjoy a nice burger, hot dog, and more with a good car wash.
The funds raised will go to the 652nd and 107th units out of Harvey and Ishpeming, which are the only active military units in the Upper Peninsula.
“They use the funds for their family activities like their picnics, their christmas parties to maximize the time their have with their families,” said event organizer Anna Dravland. “When I donate the money, I tell them to do what they want with it. I don’t care what they do with it, I just hope that they will use it to make their lives better, easier, or more enjoyable.”
Through the years, over $5,000 have been raised to help Military members and their families.
