MARQUETTE — The new Meijer in Marquette confirmed that May 24th will be its opening date.

Regional Vice President Gerald Melville said company leadership and local dignitaries will dedicate the store’s first day of business with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The 195,000 square-foot supercenter is the third to open in the Upper Peninsula, and one of six to open this year in  Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Indiana.

“Since opening our first Upper Peninsula stores last year in Escanaba and Sault Ste. Marie, local residents have welcomed us with open arms and responded positively to the fresh grocery and new shopping options we offer,” Melville said. “We’re proud to bring another store to the UP and look forward to opening day with our new neighbors.”

Doors will open at 7 A.M. The gas station will open April 26th.
