Adult Spelling Bee for cheaters is un’bee’lievable hit
MARQUETTE — Peter White Public Library’s Adult Sip and Spell: A Spelling Bee for Cheaters at the Masonic Center wasn’t your average spelling bee!
Thirteen teams of up to 4 people could purchase cheats to advance their game. Cheat prices ranged from $5.00 to $500.00 with cheats like skip a word, buy your way back in the competition, and make up your own word.
Costumes were encouraged for the teams as well. A cash bar featuring a specially brewed Blackrocks selection was also available.
“We have partnered with Blackrocks Brewery tonight – they’ve created a special brew just for this event called ‘Buzzy Juice,’ it’s a Honey Double IPA, and I’ve heard it’s wonderful,” said Peter White Public Library Development Director Heather Steltenpohl.
Proceeds from the Sip & Spell Bee will go towards the Peter White Public Library Development Fund to benefit various programs and services.
