Section of M-35 to close in Escanaba Tuesday due to water main break

ESCANABA — The northbound lane on M-35 in Escanaba will be closed to traffic on Tuesday, January 30th.

The 2200 block of 3rd Avenue South will also be closed to all traffic at the same time. Both M-35 and 3rd Avenue South are expected to re-open by the end of the business day on the 30th.

The closure is necessary to repair a water main break on M-35. All residents and businesses along M-35 from 3rd Avenue South to South 22nd Street will experience a short interruption in their water service. Crews will be going door to door to notify each resident if they will be affected, and will leave a door hanger if residents are not home.

Once the repair is complete, residents may experience discolored water. Please allow some time for the water to clear in the main before attempting to flush your service line.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the City of Escanaba Water Department at (906)786-3291.
