Library holds gross exhibit for kids of all ages
Marquette– Some kids got a gross treat at the library Tuesday afternoon.
Kids of all ages had a chance to learn about the grosser parts of the human body when the Michigan Science Center came to the Peter White Public Library.
Event organizers call the it Grossology and it was part of Sciencepalooza.
The event featured twelve stations and each had it’s own hands–on experiment. These experiments, like “Oh no, Bo” and “Wax on, Wax off” helped participants in understanding how their bodies work, even if it’s not always pretty.
Library staff and attendees were both excited for the experiments.
Sarah Rehborg is the Youth Services Librarian. She said she was pretty excited about the event, particularly one event.”I’ve heard something about snot slim,” Rehborg said, “so I’m guessing there’s going to be a lot of that going on.”
Rehborg said event should “be fun and really all of that looks really cool.”
“I think it’s like you touch guts and stuff. Not like real guts but like…fake, squishy guts or some like animal guts or some.”
This was the second time Grossology has come to the library. However, Rehborg said there were completely different experiments this time.
