Motorcycle accident caused by gravel shoulder

CALUMET — Early details are coming out about a motorcycle accident in Calumet Township.

Around 1:45 p.m., the Houghton County Sheriff’s Department responded to a motorcycle accident in Calumet Township.

Police say the motorcycle was driven by a 21-year-old male.

He was traveling northbound on Station Drive when he lost control on the road’s gravel shoulder.

The man was transported to Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital.

Officials say alcohol was not a factor and that the accident is under investigation.
