Dahlstrom signs with Swedish pro hockey team

MARQUETTE — Former Northern Michigan goalie Mathias Dahlstrom has signed with the Södertälje SK in Sweden’s Allsvenskan league.

Dahlstrom has some experience in the league before, as he played in its junior division from 2007 to 2010. In his three years at NMU, Dahlstrom went 30–30–7 with a 2.46 goals against average and a 91.5% save percentage. He notched eight career shutouts and was the last Wildcat to hit 50 saves in one game back in March of 2014. He will make his pro debut next season, joining Darren Nowick, Barret Kaib and Ryan Trenz in the group of Wildcats turning pro after their time at Northern.
