Football Huskies Back Up to No. 20 in National Poll

HOUGHTON, Mich. — Michigan Tech moved up two spots to No. 20 in the D2Football.com poll and remained at No. 22 in the American Football Coaches Association poll this week.

The Huskies are coming off a thrilling 39-38 overtime victory over Tiffin last Saturday (Oct. 31). The Black and Gold have put together a 6-2 record on the season with three one-point wins.

Michigan Tech will play its third road game against a top 20-ranked opponent in a four-week span on Saturday (Nov. 7) when it travels to No. 5 Ashland. Tech and AU are two of four nationally-ranked teams from the GLIAC. Ferris State (No. 2 D2Football.com poll, No. 3 AFCA poll) and Grand Valley State (17/17) are the others.

The Huskies have been ranked since Sept. 7 and as high as No. 9 (Oct. 12 in the D2Football.com poll).

Saturday’s Tech-Ashland game is scheduled to kick off at 1 p.m.
