The weather conditions have led to a road closure that may slow you down if you need to drive over to the Mackinac Bridge tonight.
The fresh snow and blowing snow has forced MDOT to close a stretch of US–2 in Mackinac County that it had also closed last week. US–2 will be shut down from St. Ignace to Worth Road at 7 tonight.
MDOT officials say they expect that section of highway will re–open sometime Friday morning. Traffic will be detoured to Worth Road, M–123 and I–75.
The same section of US–2 was also shut down last Friday and re–opened Saturday morning.
