More than 200 marijuana plants seized in Kingsford Heights

More than 200 marijuana plants, two pounds of processed marijuana, and a large amount of U.S. currency was seized by the Kingsford, Iron Mountain, Norway, Dickinson County Drug Enforcement Team Wednesday afternoon.

Acting on a recent tip, the K.I.N.D. Team worked in conjunction with the Dickinson County Prosecutor’s Office to obtain a search warrant for a Kingsford Heights residence. Upon executing the search warrant, K.I.N.D. members discovered a large marijuana grow operation in the basement of the residence.

The name of the homeowner is being withheld until criminal charges have been filed.

The K.I.N.D. Team was assisted at the scene by the Kingsford Public Safety Department, the Iron Mountain Police Department and the Michigan State Police Crime Laboratory.
