Lady ‘Cats prepare for tough stretch

The Northern Michigan University women’s basketball team will play in more games than practice over the next two weeks. The Wildcats are on the verge of playing five games in the next ten days.

Troy Mattson’s ‘Cats are coming off of two tough losses last week at Saginaw Valley State and at Wayne State. NMU plays at home tomorrow and Saturday, where they have an 8-1 record this season.

“It’s on our home court. We have to be excited about getting out there and performing well again,” said Mattson. “Last time we played (at home) on a Thursday and we had a couple of days to get ready, we played extremely well against Grand Valley.”

The Wildcats will take on U.P. rival Lake Superior State tomorrow night at 5:30 p.m. In Houghton, Kim Cameron and the Michigan Tech Huskies battle Northwood at 5:30 p.m.
