Man charged with OWI on snowmobile
A Chassell man is charged with driving a snowmobile while drunk after falling through the ice of Portage Lake.
The Houghton County Sheriff’s Department says he is James Manderfield, 43. He fell through the ice shortly before 12:30 Saturday morning near Dollar Bay. Manderfield was taken to Portage Health in Hancock for treatment.
The Houghton County Sheriff’s Department arrested him for operating while intoxicated on a snowmobile, which is a misdemeanor. Manderfield is free on bond and has a pretrial on January 22nd in 97th District Court.
