Possible suspect vehicle located in fatal hit and run; victim ID’d

A possible suspect vehicle has been located in the fatal hit and run accident that occurred early this morning in Marquette County.

Michigan State Police at the Negaunee Post say Robin Rahoi, 54, of Big Bay was killed when she was hit by a vehicle on County Road KCB in Powell Township.

Troopers received a call at 5:20 a.m from a motorist who discovered the woman deceased along the road.

Preliminary reports suggest that Rahoi was walking on the roadway when she was struck by an unknown hit and run vehicle.

Michigan State Police are investigating an apparent hit and run that resulted in the death of Powell Township resident.

Troopers from the Negaunee Post of the Michigan State Police received a call from a passing motorist at 5:20 Tuesday morning, who had discovered a deceased woman on the side of County Road KCB, two miles east of Big Bay Village in Marquette County.

The woman was identified by Michigan State Police as a 54-year-old Powell Township resident. Preliminary reports suggest that the woman was walking on the roadway when she was struck by an unknown hit and run vehicle. Her identity is being withheld at this time until her family has been notified.

Two Michigan State Police detectives are currently investigating the scene with Accident Reconstructionists from the Eighth District Headquarters.
