Tall Ships Weekend in Mqt.

From the Marquette Maritime Museum:

The Marquette Maritime Museum in conjunction with Marquette Downtown Development Authority, Marquette County Convention and Visitors Bureau and the City of Marquette are announcing a record five tall ships will be in Marquette at Mattson Lower Harbor Park July 19th-21st.

The Hindu, the S/V Denis Sullivan, the Peacemaker, the Halie & Matthew and Marquette’s own Coaster II will be in the harbor starting Friday, July 19th, with the ships starting to arrive on Wednesday, July 17th. All of the ships except the Peacemaker are offering a variety of sail-aways throughout the weekend. The Marquette Maritime Museum is taking reservations for these sails. The Peacemaker will be offering deck tours of their ship on Saturday and Sunday for a minimal fee.

There will be a variety of vendors at the Marquette Yacht Club and living statues throughout the city. The Peacemaker will also be offering tours of their 1950s restored motor coach free of charge.

All tall ship information is located on the Marquette Maritime Museum’s website. Photos of the ships can also be emailed by request. For more information, please contact Carrie Fries at the Marquette Maritime Museum at (906) 226-2006.
