Redmen baseball team practicing indoors

The Marquette High School Baseball team was scheduled to play its first regular season game today in Escanaba.

But with baseball fields across the U.P. nowhere ready for play, the Redmen are keeping their skills sharp with lots of practice inside.

Marquette has a young core of players on this years roster. Head Coach Todd Koski says that his team can pretty much replicate everything they do indoors inside except for one thing, which is hit curve balls.

The Redmen are scheduled to play their first games of the season on April 18, a double header at Superior Central against the Cougars.

Marquette has a completely new pitching staff on this years team. Last years entire starting rotation was comprised of seniors who have since graduated.
