Credit union changing its name

Ishpeming Community Federal Credit Union is happy to announce they will be changing their name to TruNorth Federal Credit Union effective April 8, 2013. This new name will better reflect the credit union’s five county, community-based membership.

General Manager, George Isola said, “This name combines tradition and the future. TruNorth fits the credit union as Tru reminds our members of truth, trustworthiness, and confidence while North reflects the geographic area.”

The new TruNorth Federal Credit Union signs will be installed in the credit union’s three office locations beginning April 8.

Mr. Isola also stated, “Ishpeming Community Federal Credit Union is changing our name, not direction.  We remain owned and controlled by our 14,000 plus member/owners.  Credit union members can still expect the same great personal service from the same employees they have come to know and trust.”

The Ishpeming Community Federal Credit Union is cooperatively owned by over 14,000 local residents and was organized in 1949 to provide low cost financial services to all owner/members.  Credit union membership is open to anyone living, working, worshiping or attending school in Marquette, Alger, Baraga, Dickinson and Iron Counties.  Deposits are federally insured by the NCUA.
