Iron Co. fire destroys building
Police are investigating a fire in Iron County that destroyed a building overnight.
It happened in Stambaugh Township at about 3:30 Central time this morning.
Michigan State Police from the Iron Mountain Post say a storage building at 137 Scott Lake Road caught fire.
That address is a seasonal home, and no one was there at the time.
The initial call to police reported a loud explosion coming from the area.
The West Iron County Fire Department put out the blaze.
The State Police Fire Investigation Unit is looking into the cause and origin of the fire.
