M-553 accident update
A woman is still hospitalized after a three-vehicle accident Tuesday that closed M-553 in Marquette County for about two hours.
It happened just south of Marquette Mountain, near Glass’s Curve, at about 11:45 Tuesday morning.
The Marquette County Sheriff’s Department says 22-year-old Ryan Heric of Gwinn was driving a northbound pickup truck that lost control and crossed the centerline.
The truck crashed head-on into a southbound Mercury Sable driven by 57-year-old Evelyn Hendry of Gwinn.
A southbound Cadillac, driven by 33-year-old Cory Lemieux of Gwinn, then struck the Sable from behind.
Lemieux was treated at Marquette General Hospital and released.
Hendry is listed in fair condition tonight.
The accident is still under investigation.
