Pickup Truck Kills Pedestrian-Update
Michigan State Police from the Gladstone Post are still investigating an accident from Thursday morning where a pedestrian died.
It happened at 8:15 AM Thursday morning on New Wilsey Bay Road in Bay de Noc Township.
73–year–old Kenneth Rogus of Oxford, Michigan was walking on the road when 31–year–old Paul McCarty of Rapid River drove a pickup truck into him. Rogus was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Michigan State Police Traffic Crash Reconstructionist was called to the scene to investigate. Speed and alcohol are NOT believed to be factors in the crash.
MSP was assisted by The Delta County Victim Advocates, Masonville EMT, Rampart EMS and the Delta County Sheriff’s Department.
The accident still remains under investigation.
