Benishek on Health Care Law Anniversary
Two years ago today, President Obama signed the controversial federal health care reform bill into law.
Congressman Dan Benishek marked the occasion with a news conference about the effects of the law.
Before Benishek was elected to congress, he was a surgeon with Dickinson County Healthcare System.
He says the law may restrict access to care, as seen with Cheboygan Hospital’s bankruptcy in the Lower Peninsula.
And he opposes the idea of the federal government forcing Americans to buy something.
Benishek endorses Mitt Romney for President and says Romney has the right idea with the experimentation he was part of in Massachusetts to find ways to improve the health care system.
Next week, the health care law will be tested in the U.S. Supreme Court.
The law may be ruled unconstitutional, but the Court has not done that to a piece of major federal economic legislation since 1936.
