Fire at Big Powderhorn Mountain
Firefighters from across the western U.P. have spent much of the day battling a large fire at the Big Powderhorn Mountain ski lodge in Bessemer.
More than half the lodge has been destroyed.
No one has been reported injured.
And yesterday, a house fire in Bark River claimed the life of an elderly man.
The winter months are the most dangerous for house and structure fires.
Firefighters respond to more than 1.3 million fires a year, including more than 325,000 house fires.
